Hello, good morning, and welcome to the Saturday Morning News Post!
You ever feel so overwhelmed with all the shit you should or need to be doing that you just go back to bed in the middle of the day and hide under the covers waiting to fall into unconsciousness? Haha. Yeah,… me neither.
There is absolutely nothing productive about going back to bed in the middle of the day, it’s just the brain saying This shit sucks, and we are shuttin’er down!

Hello, good morning, and welcome to the Saturday Morning News Post!
“Walk soft and carry a BIG hose.” That’s what I’ve always said,… or at least, since last week when one commenter called my SMNP “the truth hose.”
And after the epic release of last weeks truth hose, boy was I spent!
But it was all worth it because readers, your comments to last weeks SMNP were off the charts! Great stories and insights into the challenges and joys/benefits of practicing art, full-time AND part-time. If you haven’t already, I recommend reading all of them, very inspiring. I believe this group (which includes a number of good friends of mine) needs a little wake-up call encouragement every so often from us “full-time” artists. They need to be reminded that more…

Hello, good morning, and welcome to the Saturday Morning News Post!
First of all, let me thank everyone who contributed comments and ideas to last weeks SMNP. Much appreciated, and keep’em coming!
No one offered a definitive answer on how best to release a new recording (so that it might at least break even), and I came to the conclusion that this was because there is no definitive answer. I’m slowly coming around to the fact that recording is just a small part of a larger picture which I think focuses mainly on live performances, aka touring.
A musician friend of mine once told me “If you’re willing to lose 10 grand on a recording then you should be willing to lose 10 grand on touring it,” which in hindsight,…um… still doesn’t make much sense. But what I think he meant was that recordings don’t do much unless more…
